All fans of furry and tailed creatures must necessarily visit the famous Public Garden of Siberian cats. Many people are touched by such an unusual architectural decision that, by the way, has a severe history behind – to the time of the Great Patriotic War.
The thing is that in Saint Petersburg (Leningrad that time) after the blockade, there were almost no cats left, and the city was literally full of rats. According to legend, to fight the rats, Tyumen sent a whole carload of cats to Leningrad – 238 animals. About 5,000 cats were sent from Siberia to Leningrad. So, to honor those heroes, in 2008 a silent ally was turned into one of the most famous public gardens of the city.
