"You needn't go far away to have a fun and entertaining weekend. All you need is in Yalutorovsk, just 85 km from Tyumen.
Start your journey with a tour of the Decembrists’ Square, as one of Yalutorovk’s unofficial name is the City of the Decembrists. Then visit the Seretinskaya Square, the Lancaster Class in the merchants Balakshins’ Mansion and the House of the philantropist merchant S. I. Mamomntov.
As long as you are in the City of Decembrists, then you should visit the Yalutorovsk Museum Complex, which in 2008 reached the semi-finals of the “Seven Wonders of Russia” contest. The museum complex includes the Memorial House of Matvey Ivanovich Muravyov-Apostol and Ivan Dmitrievich Yakushkin, as well as the Museum of Local Lore and the House of Nature. In Muravyov-Apostol’s House you may see, for example, the interior and items of the early 19th century: books with the owner’s autographs, clocks, furniture and many more.
Definitely go and see the famous Yalotorovsk Ostrog, where you will plunge into the world of folk fun. There you can take pictures dressed in national costumes, shoot arrows, make folk dolls, paint wood and do some clay modeling. And those are just some of all the entertainment.
Complete your wonderful hourney with areal peasant feast with the traditional Russian cuisine."
